This is Dick's recording of the 2nd big aftershock today - originally registered at 6.9 and later downgraded to 6.7. Sudden motion sensors surrounding the hard drives in Macintosh computers are used to record the seismic motion of earthquakes.

Be sure to check out the older posts for earthquake photos.

Thanks to all for their concerns for our safety and well-being!

One Family's Resilience - Pictures

This family narrowly escaped their adobe house in the early moments of the quake before the roof and interior walls collapsed inwards leaving them with minor bruises.

The makeshift lean-to where they will live for the next few months. They built it Saturday morning, wrapping many of their possessions in plastic sheeting for protection from the rains which fortunately have not yet come, but surely will.

The house, finished 14 years ago, is already under reconstruction four days after the quake.
